Review: I Love... Bubble Baths!

Sydney has turned icy cold - Winter is definitely upon us! This means heaters, fluffy socks, electric blankets and...... bubble baths!

Wandering through Myer, I found a brand that I had never seen before called I Love... Cosmetics. Their products include lip balm, lip gloss, body butter & delicious bubble bath.

Here's what they say about their bubble bath/shower gels:
Pour me seductively under running water, wait for the bubbles to kick in, immerse yourself into the bath, relax (and that’s very important) and take pleasure in my tantalising aroma. Alternatively, squeeze me generously into the palm of your hand or onto a sponge, smother me all over your wet skin until I lather into a frenzy of rich fragrant bubbles then rinse me off when you’ve had enough.
The I Love... bubble bath comes in a few different scents, the one that immediately caught my attention was Strawberries & Milkshake which smells just like it sounds. It's reminiscent of The Body Shops Strawberry Body Butter + a lovely creamy milk scent.

I purchased 2 more of their bubble baths last week - Raspberry & Blackberry, and Mango & Papaya - and was given a free Strawberries & Milkshake Shimmer & Shine Lip Gloss. There was another scent - Coconut & Cream which is kind of nice, but there's just something about it that's strange so I didn't get that one.

I wasn't sure about Mango & Papaya, at first this scent is quite subtle both in the bottle & bath, but it's growing on me. Raspberry & Blackberry has the strongest scent of all three. I notice after my bath that it also gives the bathroom a lovely scent for a couple of hours after.

The bubbles are lovely & fluffy - just want you want, and have always lasted the entire bath. I feel a bit sad washing them down the drain. Raspberry & Blackberry has the darkest colour of all - a shimmery red, but once the product is broken up & turned into bubbles the water is clear.

After using all three, at the moment I think my favourite would be Raspberry & Blackberry because of the strong scent.

With my sensitive nose I detect a tiny chemical soapy scent that's similar to other bubble baths (including kids bubble baths). I'm guessing it's the agent that creates the bubbles (SLS?) but it's not really noticable unless you're purposefully smelling the bubbles.

All three bubble baths are great when used as a shower cream/gel too.

Last but not least, I do notice my skin is soft after my bath or shower - don't expect super moisturised skin but I was surprised it did anything at all.

Verdict:

The I Love... bubble baths are a wonderful way to wind down after a hard day at work. They don't contain any mind blowing ingredients (no shea butter or essential oils), but the product doesn't promise this. The scents are gorgeous & make for a delightful & relaxing bath. That's exactly what you get.

I'm interested in trying a couple of other scents that haven't seemed to have made their way to Australia yet - Vanilla & Ice Cream, and Chocolate & Oranges.

Price:

$11.50 for a 500ml bottle.

My Rating: 7.5 out of 10
